We have been hard at work reviewing hundreds of performance proposals from incredible performance artists across the globe for #AliveAtSatellite, Performance Is Alive's non-stop programming at SATELLITE ART SHOW during Miami Art Week 2016. We are incredibly delighted to present these daring projects from an amazing group of artists. Throughout the fair’s duration multi-media performance artists confront a myriad of contemporary issues such as body politics, race, economic inequality, climate change and intimacy in the digital age. Over twenty short form, durational and video based performance works will be presented throughout SATELLITE 2.0. We hope to see you in Miami but if you can't join us on the beach, stay tuned for live stream details! - Quinn Dukes + Alexandra Hammond

Quinn Dukes
ABOUT QUINN DUKES // Dukes is a multimedia performance artist, activist and curator based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work addresses environmental disasters, social injustice and ritual. In 2014, following a heated discussion about the death of performance art, Dukes founded Performance Is Alive. She is a tireless advocate for performance art and higher education via appointments at Grace Exhibition Space and the School of Visual Arts.

Alexandra Hammond
ABOUT ALEXANDRA HAMMOND // Alexandra Hammond is an artist, designer and writer based in Brooklyn. She holds an MFA from the SVA Art Practice department and a BS from NYU's Studio Art department. Hammond's work involves painting, installation, performance and retail interventions. She is an ambivalent Utopian. Her current work investigates the paradoxical function of the idyll, a perfected image of wholeness that can only be viewed from the outside, yet may drive the desire to continually become in the embodied real.
