for Performance + Video proposals at SATELLITE ART SHOW NYC

DEADLINE: JULY 31, 2019


    Performance Is Alive will proudly present durational performance art and film screenings for Satellite Art Show's next edition in Brooklyn, New York. This is Satellite's first full iteration of the fair in New York City and we are thrilled to present programming in our own backyard! Performance artists, filmmakers and video artists are invited to submit proposals for consideration to SATELLITE - New York. This event will be held at the Pfizer Building located at 630 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.

    Please note that performance projects of all lengths will be considered with preference given to durational proposals (over 1 hour). There will be limited potential for installation prior to the performance. The performance should be envisioned within an open space with access to two walls.

    Single channel film and video projects may be varying lengths from 2 - 30 minutes. Multi-channel video projects can only be supported if the artist provides the necessary tech for viewing.

    FAIR DATES: October 3-6, 2019

    FAIR HOURS:
    Thursday, October 3rd, 3pm - 11pm
    Friday, October 4th, 3pm - 11pm
    Saturday, October 5th, 3pm - 11pm
    Sunday, October 6th, 3pm-7pm 

    The deadline for submissions is WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 11:59PM EST.

    FAQ's
    • Can I submit more than one proposal? You are welcome to submit a live performance and separate  video project for consideration. Only one proposal for each will be considered.
    • Can I create an installation for my performance? Yes. Keep in mind that install and de-install may all be required on the same day.
    • Is there a travel stipend? Not at this time.
    • Is there an artist honorarium? Yes, selected participants will be offered a stipend and Satellite Artist Package.
    • I applied in previous years, can I apply again? Yes! Please do!
    • I can't tell if my application submitted, the form froze. If this happens, chances are that your image file sizes are too big. Please reduce files to under 5MB.
    • If my project is selected, is there a fee for me to participate? No.

    SATELLITE ART SHOW presents interactive projects by young dealers, artist-run spaces and non-profits. By fostering a range of programming, SATELLITE is able to offer patrons and collectors with a unique experience where art is at the forefront of creative expression, activism, and curiosity. Our exhibitors are encouraged to provide our visitors both an opportunity to collect new works of art as well as to present exhibitions that are engaging, experiential and interactive.

    ​SATELLITE is expanding perceptions on art and community and providing an inclusive environment for guests to feel comfortable in exploration and discovery.
